A discussion of Tagore's major theoretical and philosophical contributions to Bengali literature and a consideration of his place in world literature. In this post, we review Rabindranath Tagore’s work worldwide through the lens of his poems, short stories, plays, novels and essays. Tagore’s poetry is lyrical, emotional and romantic. He was the first non-European to win the Nobel Prize in Literature (1913), and he also wrote about religion, nationalism,?and modernism in his essays. He was an activist too.
